Sherman High School Biology Stream Monitoring Equipment

Students in Liz Cranston's Highschool Biology class practiced using new stream monitoring equipment and test modules with water collected from a nearby stream and pond. Several students accompanied Mrs. Cranston to Outdoor School to teach 6th graders about benthic macroinvertebrates and how important they are to healthy streams and general stream monitoring. They used the equipment to monitor for pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorus levels as well as turbidity in the nearby stream and pond at Camp Morrow.
