Arbor Day Tree Planting, Grade 3 and 5

A group of children engaged in tree planting activities outdoors.

SWCD and NRCS had a great time planting trees on Arbor Day with Sherman County students. Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Farrens brought their classes out to the Bill Todd Memorial to plant a Weeping Willow and a Northern Red Oak. All of the students worked really hard digging large holes, planting the trees, and refilling the holes. We talked about the benefits of trees, such as cleaning the air, providing habitat for wildlife, boosting our mental health, and much more!
